Pensé Productions and Academy-Award winning screenwriter Ron Bass are developing an aspirational one-hour drama television series conceived as The West Wing in the Vatican.
L’appartamento was created by think tank director, economist, and catholic priest Rev. Robert Sirico, and is being written by Bass, one of the most prolific and influential screenwriters in Hollywood history. Bass wrote the screenplay for the Tom Cruise/Dustin Hoffman box office smash Rain Man, for which he won an Oscar, and the Julia Roberts films My Best Friend’s Wedding and Stepmom. Bass is also much in demand as a "script doctor" on dozens of films, including Memoirs of a Geisha and Soul Surfer.
Ron is currently adapting his Joy Luck Club for HBO. Pensé Productions, Father Sirico, and Ron Bass will pitch L’appartamento to broadcast, cable, and internet networks in summer 2017.
